彼の2つの活動を一つの言葉で表現しようとすれば、以下になるように思えます。「ある見知った都市の、見知らぬ相貌を地図に再現する作業」と。「制作」というときの親密さよりも「作業」と書いた時の冷たさが、彼の二つの活動に似合っていると、私は思います。この時彼は、都市の細部を非常に大事にしています。それは、私たちがよく知っているような、文字通りの細部（空間的、視覚的、機能的な細部）ではありません。都市から時間と空間を抜き去った時の不気味な残滓、とでも言いましょうか。これが、彼の愛する細部で、文章や絵や映像を用いてこれらをひたすらに復元する作業に従事する事が、ひるぜん氏の活動なんだと感じます。（藤本一郎・音楽家）

I make oil painting, or a kind of installations, and write novels.
Keywords are alienation, sense of reality, and before meaning.
I am afraid of a world that understands meaning, a world where I can feel secure. It really should not be so.

I want to be a place where people can feel that there is no whereabouts.
I am making works while thinking about the above things.
